I am very enthusiastic about the recent initiatives from the Government to encourage people to use their bikes for the daily commute and in their leisure time. I have been cycling locally for over 30 years and I am keen to help others get back into it too. I didn’t cycle from the age of 16 to around 30. But once I got back in the saddle I loved it.  Touring nationally and across France and Spain.

One of the things that holds people back is the condition that their bike is currently in or perhaps you don’t have a bike at all. It is hard at the moment to get your bike back on the road. High demand for cycle maintenance and repairs from the high street shops and chain stores makes it difficult to get into cycle commuting simply because these places just can’t cope with the demand.  My home based business sets out to address this.

I decided to offer my services and skills to help meet the current need.  I think that once you return to cycling for your commute you won't get back on the train!

It's good for you and good for the environment!

Apart from my obvious enthusiasm for anything cycling related I’m an experienced Cytech qualified cycle mechanic (see my qualifications and experience here) – I can repair and service your bike to a very high standard, I can advise you of the most appropriate bike for your intended use – I can even convert your current bike to electric assist and give you a range of 100km – not a theoretical 100km range – an actual 100km range.

I’ve taught students to study for the theory and practical aspects of the City and Guilds Cycle Maintenance and Repair course in both Essex and Hertfordshire Schools, I’m a British Cycling qualified cycle coach and a National Standards Cycle Instructor. I’m also a CTC Mountain Bike Trail Leader.

There isn’t anything cycling related I can’t do – I’ll give you sound advice and I can teach you to repair/maintain your bike yourself if that’s what you would like. Alternatively, there isn’t a cycle repair or maintenance task I can’t do for you. I offer a wide range of services.

Initial inspections are free and I will give you an estimate of the likely cost of the service/repair. Same day repairs are often possible but that will depend on the availability of spares and my current workload.

From punctures, simple adjustments, replacement drive chain, gear and brake adjustment and general lubrication, new bike assembly and preparation through to restoration projects or full rebuilds and frame painting – I can help you keep that bike on the road, looking good, changing gear smoothly and stopping quickly. I’ll probably save you money and put a smile on your face too.
